Contact Person: Mark Holkup • BPS Career Academy 115 • 224-5417 • Mark.Holkup@bismarckstate.edu
The Farm Management Education program provides a practical and thorough study of the farming business for farm families and individuals currently engaged in managing their farms or ranches. The education program instructs beginning and established farmers and ranchers in goal setting, planning, records/accounting, and business analysis. Training in computerized farm record systems is part of the course. Marketing meetings are held throughout the year and are available to all students. Much of the course content is provided individually with the farm family.
The program helps teach farmers/ranchers how to prepare financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, owner equity statements) and how to use them in the day-to-day management.
This program is certified to meet the Farm Service Agency borrower training requirements.
The program's mission is to provide lifelong learning opportunities in economic and financial management for families/individuals involved in the farming and ranching business.
