Phi Theta Kappa is the two-year college national honor society. The local chapter of BSC is named Kappa Omicron. The purpose of Kappa Omicron chapter is the promotion of scholarship, the development of leadership and service and the cultivation of fellowship among qualified students of the college. Membership is restricted to candidates completing 12 or more credit hours at BSC leading to an associate degree and having a minimum GPA of 3.50.



1959-60 Yearbook
Kappa Omicron chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, national junior-college honorary scholarship society, was organized this year with ten charter members.  Eligible members in the upper ten percent of the sophomore class are elected to membership by the faculty at the end of the first semester.
