Limited enrollment, technical programs have openings
These limited enrollment programs have openings for the fall semester, beginning Aug. 24.

Electronics/Telecommunications Technology is a two-year program, leading to a diploma or AAS degree. Students learn entry-level skills required for the diversified electronics and telecommunications industries.
For potential openings in the on-campus programs in Power Plant Technology, Process Plant Technology, and Renewable Generation Technology at the National Energy Center of Excellence, call 701-224-2475. If the programs are full, students could take those classes online.
English class designed for military students
Veterans and service members will have their own English composition course this fall at BSC. English 110 is scheduled M-W-F at 1 p.m. The first of its kind at BSC, the military-students-only class is part of BSC's effort to become a military-friendly college and to help military personnel re-integrate into civilian life, especially those who have been deployed.
Registration begins by contacting the BSC Veterans Services office in Schafer Hall, Room 111, for enrollment or transfer. For more information, call 701-224-2575 or BSC.Veterans.Office@bsc.nodak.edu.

Get a good look at BSC during a campus tour
The Admissions/Enrollment Services Office offers tours to prospective
students. During tours students can see classrooms, lab facilities, student
activities areas, and visit the residence halls, including the new Lidstrom
Hall. Student ambassadors give visitors an insider's view of the campus
through the eyes of a current BSC student.
During a campus visit, students can also visit with a professor and an
admissions representative. Professors provide students with information
regarding specific programs of study, and admissions representatives can
help simplify the application process. Many students and parents also visit
with the Financial Aid Office during their campus visit.
To schedule your campus tour, go to BSC Campus Tours. We look
forward to showing you around our beautiful campus!

ACT is a must for BSC admission
Are you under the age of 25? Are you planning to enroll at Bismarck State
College?
If you answered yes to both of those questions, make sure you complete your
college admission exam early. All students who plan to enroll at BSC are
required to submit an ACT score report as part of the admissions process.
Your ACT scores are the key to starting your college education. Scores are
used to place students in the right levels of math and English classes and
also qualify students for admission into certain limited enrollment
technical programs.
ACT registration packets may be obtained from your local high school or
register online at the ACT Website.
BSC does not require students to take the writing portion of the ACT.
For BSC's specific score requirements for math, reading and English courses
or for the limited enrollment technical programs, please visit our
Testing and Assessment Web
site.
Financial aid easy to understand with online video
Trying to learn the ins and outs of financial aid? Bismarck State College
has an online video financial aid counseling service to help you understand
college financial aid and the steps needed to apply for aid.
Financial Aid TV features short video clips with answers to many commonly
asked questions. Examples are "How do I know if I qualify for financial
aid?" and "What is a Pell Grant?"
"The Financial Aid TV service provides BSC's financial aid department with
another tool to assist students with applying for financial aid programs,"
said Jeff Jacobs, BSC financial aid director. "The service also allows our
department to connect with students on how to apply for aid when they are
not face-to-face with a financial aid adviser, which is a tremendous help to
the student."
To view the videos, go to BSC
Financial Ad TV.
Students interested in receiving financial aid should apply before the March
15 deadline. The school code to enter for Bismarck State College is 002988.
Students who miss this deadline are still encouraged to apply, as they may
be eligible for student loans.
