BSC PHOTO ID

Why do I need a BSC photo ID?
  • The BSC photo ID is your official college identification card and serves as your ticket for accessing services at a variety of campus locations.  All enrolled students, faculty, and staff are eligible to get a card.

What kinds of services can I access with the BSC photo ID?
  • Library services and resources (the library access number is the barcode on the BACK of the card)
  • Dining services (for students living on campus)
  • Entrance to BSC activities, e.g., athletic events, plays, concerts, and dances (either for free or at a discount price)

  • Ability to use financial aid or third-party charging for purchases made at the BSC Bookstore
  • BSC Aquatic and Wellness Center
  • Discounts from local businesses

Who is eligible to get a BSC photo ID?
  • Currently enrolled BSC students
  • Current BSC employees
  • Note:  BSC distance education users (students and faculty) may apply for an online access number via online services on our website.

How and where do I get a BSC photo ID?
  • Stop by the BSC Library during regular library hours to get your BSC photo ID.
  • BSC students and employees must present photographic proof of identification (e.g., current driver's license or passport) and proof of their NDUS (North Dakota University System) EMPLID number.
  • There is no charge for the first BSC photo ID card or for a card that has expired (expiration date is on the back of the card).

Do I need to get a new ID every year?
  • No.  There is an expiration date on the back of your BSC photo ID card.  If the card hasn't expired, you don't need to get a new ID.

I lost my BSC photo ID.  Can I get another one?
  • Yes, you can get a replacement ID by requesting one at the BSC Library during regular library hours.
  • The fee for a replacement ID is $5.  We accept cash or checks for the amount of purchase (with proper ID, e.g., driver's license).  There is no charging and we cannot accept credit cards or debit cards.

Is there a charge for replacing an expired ID card?
  • No, bring your expired ID with you when you stop by the library and we will make a new card for you at no charge.

Can anyone else use my BSC photo ID?
  • No. Your BSC photo ID is non-transferrable.  Only YOU can use your card

How do I get a library card or library access number?
  • Note: If you have a BSC photo ID, it is your library card.  The library access number is the 14-digit barcode number on the BACK of the card.
  • Current BSC students and employees must present proof of identification (e.g., current driver's license) and proof of their NDUS (North Dakota University System) EMPLID number.
  • Current BSC distance education users (students and faculty) may apply for an online library access number via online services on our website.
  • North Dakota residents may apply for a community library card and must present a current North Dakota driver's license to obtain one.  Community users have courtesy borrowing privileges only. Interlibrary loan and off-campus access to databases is limited to current BSC students and employees.
