Collaborative Student Status for Bismarck State College Students
spacer

A collaborative student is a student who is earning their degree from Bismarck State College (BSC), but will be taking a course(s) at another NDUS institution within the same term. BSC, will be "Home Institution" and the other NDUS institution will be considered your "Provider Institution".

Only students who have indicated BSC as home campus should complete the form listed below. If you are not seeking a degree from BSC and need further information. Contact BSC's Collaborative Student Coordinator Kene Miller, Kenegunda.Miller@bsc.nodak.edu for further assistance. By registering as a collaborative student, you agree to the following:

  1. You have been admitted to BSC as a degree-seeking student.
  2. You may enroll as a collaborative student when you are not registered on the home campus, but not for more than one consecutive semester unless approved by home campus.
  3. Certain negative service indicators will prevent you from enrolling.
  4. You are required to follow the drop and withdraw procedures at BSC to be taken out of a BSC course(s). To be taken out of the collaborative institution course you will need to e-mail Kene Miller, Collaborative Student Coordinator, Kenegunda.Miller@bsc.nodak.edu indicating which course to add/drop at another NDUS campus.
  5. Remedial courses, such as ASC 087 and ASC 092, and graduate level courses cannot be registered for as collaborative courses.
  6. If you exceed 20 semester hours total for the term, you will need appropriate approval prior to registering.
  7. It is your responsibility to have met all pre-requisites as set by the provider campus.
  8. The credits taken as a collaborative student are essentially transfer credits from the Provider Institution and do not count towards the residency requirement of 15 semester hours of institutional credit from BSC.
  9. You will pay all tuition and fees to BSC, either through financial aid or on your own before due date. Failure to do will result in cancellation from all courses including collaborative courses. Do not pay any tuition to your provider campus. If you pay the provider campus you risk cancelling your collaborative status.
  10. To make any changes to your schedule, you must email the Collaborative Student Coordinator at BSC: Kenegunda.Miller@bsc.nodak.edu. Collaborative Students have a hold placed on their file which will not allow you to make the changes yourself.

As part of your collaborative registration, BSC will complete the following on your behalf:

  1. Credits taken at provider campus(es) will be combined with credits at BSC for financial aid purposes.
  2. Tuition owed to your provider institution will be added to your bill at BSC.
  3. Your credits from provider institutions will automatically be transferred to BSC at the end of the semester.

Once you have submitted the registration form below, it is automatically emailed to BSC. Your status will be verified to make sure that you are eligible to take these courses collaboratively. A request will be sent to the provider institution and they will register you in Campus Connection. You will receive a confirmation email within 1 to 2 weeks after the registration has been completed. You are not registered until you receive this confirmation email. Due to time needed to process collaborative registrations, we strongly encourage you to submit your registration before the first day of classes.

At BSC, our first objective is to serve the student. If a BSC course is full or not available, we encourage our students to use the collaborative process to meet their educational needs. If you are a BSC student and have questions about the collaborative process, please contact the Collaborative Student Coordinator, Kene Miller at (701) 224-5711 or 1-800-445-5073 or Kenegunda.Miller@bsc.nodak.edu.

I agree to all conditions as stated above.   GO TO ONLINE COLLABORATIVE REGISTRATION FORM
